Now that I’ve covered the phenomenon of crowdfunding and the changes to the tabletop game marketplace evidenced <\/a>at GenCon 2015, I’d like to move on to the eye candy.<\/p>\n

There were a tremendous number of great costumes this year. There were also quite a lot of impressive miniatures and pieces of terrain. I snapped some pictures of everyone’s wonderful hand-made art over the weekend as I wandered the convention. Here are a couple of my favorites.<\/p>\n

Miniatures<\/h3>\n

There were lots of jaw-dropping paint jobs. The painting contest cabinet, in particular, was breathtaking.<\/p>\n

Terrain<\/h3>\n

I saw a lot of great pieces of terrain this year. Big trends were paper buildings, as in the Dropzone Commander terrain below.\u00a0Also very popular were laser-cut MDF and balsa wood terrain. I also saw a lot of good use of\u00a0foam board.\u00a0And the sheer size of the\u00a0Space Hulk game they were playing was impressive.
